Named to honor a prominent Virginia patriot, the Thomas Lee Chapter has worked for over 50 years "to perpetuate the
memory and the spirit of the men and women who achieved American independence; to promote the development of an enlightened public opinion; and to foster patriotic citizenship." We are proud to be named for an individual who had such a great influence on American history. Thomas Lee was an advisor to the royal governor, a member of the Council of Virginia, a judge in General Court, and a member of the Upper House of the Legislature.
Thomas Lee is an active, energetic chapter, dating back to 1957, made up of women of all ages and backgrounds who are dedicated to education, historic preservation, and patriotic events. Our members take pride in our chapter's legacy of leadership and work pursuing the DAR's mission of historic preservation, patriotism, and education.
